First Responder

Not all heroes wear uniforms—some just show up with snacks and bad advice at the exact right moment. Sometimes, the real first responders are the ones who answer your midnight call, hold your hand through heartbreak, or show up when no one else does. Join us for an evening of true tales of the people who stepped up first—whether in crisis or quiet chaos. Tell us about the moment you became someone’s lifeline—or they became yours. Whether it’s medical or metaphorical, heroic or hilariously human, we want to hear your story of the first one on the scene.

Submissions for are due Saturday, June 19! Please see our storyteller guidelines for information about how to submit your story. First timers are encouraged!!

We’ll see you on TUESDAY, July 1st 2025 at 7:00pm for “First Responder” at The Rock, 136 N. Park Ave! Doors will open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10.

(Note: We only sell tickets at the door, not in advance. We accept cash and any tap-to-pay methods; if your card is swipe only, please be prepared to wait a bit for manual entry. Thanks for understanding!)
